What's up with the name Fried Peas? TOP
Mmmmm. How do I explain this one. Well, peas ARE my favorite vegetable. Not enough? I've always referred to my bead offspring as little peas. I don't know why. Maybe because beads are round? (Although not all of them were round in the beginning) I also wanted some sort of heat reference in whatever name I chose since these "peas" are made in the heat of the flame. Hence ~ Fried! I must admit I like off-beat names; it's a family thing. My brothers have always made up cooky labels for everyday items. I guess it's genetic.  Plus don't those beads look so cute in that little pea pod on my logo?

Who are you? Hollister Hot Heads or Fried Peas? TOP

BOTH! I like having an alias. I've been Fried Peas since Indiana. I became a Hollister Hot Head (HHH) when I moved to California and met Jenn Kelly. We met in passing and quickly exchanged numbers. I lost her number but thankfully Jenn didn't lose mine.

She and I thought it would be fun to get together once in a while to exchange ideas. Well that once in a while turned into beading weekly. With all the beads we were making, we created our little joint venture of Hollister Hot Heads and started selling on eBay (we live in Hollister and Hot Head is a type of torch used to make lampwork beads - pretty clever, eh? Jenn came up with it). We sell "challenge" beads and individual auctions on eBay. Stop by my HHH page and read more about our challenges.  We've been on eBay since January 2005.

I'll continue to sell on eBay as a Hollister Hot Head, but on this site - I'll always be Fried Peas; unless I'm selling a set with Jenn on my HHH page. Are you confused now? Good, then I've done my job as an alias.

Do you make your own beads? Are they annealed? TOP
Yes. Through a process called "lampwork", I melt glass rods (about the diameter of a pencil) in the flame of a torch. I wrap the hot-molten glass on to thin-steel sticks called "mandrels".  I then anneal my beads in a digital-controlled kiln overnight.

When do you post your bead specials? TOP
Ah, that's a tough one. Because this site is new, I do not have a set schedule. I hope to get to a point where I list on Thursday or Friday of each week. However, when life happens - that will change. The best thing to do is to come by and take a peek.

Do you accept custom orders? TOP
I wish I  could say yes. But at this time,  I have to say no. Once I feel secure about running this site, I may have more time for that. I'll announce it on my home page if and when I do.

What methods of payment do you accept? TOP
I accept credit card payments through paypal, money orders and cashier's checks. You do not need to have an account in order to use your credit card on paypal. I may accept credit cards directly on my site in the future.

How soon will you ship my beads? TOP
Usually the next business day after I receive your payment. I pride myself on getting my beads shipped out fast. If I don't, I may look at them too long and decide to keep them for myself!

What is your return policy? TOP

I want happy customers! If you are not completely satisfied with your beads, return them for a full refund, less shipping.

Do you have a newsletter? TOP

At this time, I will not be sending out newsletters.

What do you charge for shipping? TOP
$2.50 for First Class shipping with delivery confirmation up to 2 sets and $.50 for each additional set. $4.00 for USPS Priority Mail (I'll pay the difference) for up to 2 sets and $.50 for each additional set. International is $4.00 up to 2 sets and $1.00 for each additional set.
